I went to Specsavers

It would have been impossible to get an appointment with the GP, certainly this month and very probably this year.

So as my sight is so bad I thought I’d try Specsavers. I went on-line at about 09:00 today and booked an appointment for 10:35 the same day.

I’ve always been very pleased with Specsavers, and today was no exception. They saw me promptly and did a very thorough test.They have altered my prescription for glasses, though it will be a couple of weeks before I get the new ones, but there is some debris in the eyes, particularly the left one, but they are contacting my GP for me with a view to having a visit to a specialist.

So no instant improvement, but I hope the new glasses will help and that I’ll have meeting with the consultant who did my cataracts (10 years ago) in the not too distant future. It was quite reassuring, though I still can’t really read, work on screens, take photographs or do any railway modelling.

As reported yesterday, I am having serious problems with my vision at present, and I could see this, though no idea if it is in focus, and no post processing apart from a very approximate crop.

Vision problems

For the last few days (before the jab) my vision has been terrible – double vision, everything blurred, and coloured blotches. No sign of improvement …

So I really can’t read or use a computer most of the time, nor even watch the birds or take any photos.

Spring Booster

Had my Covid Booster this morning – thanks to Phil for taking me there. It was in Netherton this time (a different location each time, and Moderna this time. Phil kindly stopped as we passed the replica anchor in Netherton for me to get a photo.

New cactus

A couple of weeks ago I repotted one of the new cacti after photographing it in flower. While I was doing this a small piece broke off, so, nothing ventured, nothing gained, I popped the piece into a pot, gave it a little water, and then forgot about it. Today I happened to look at it, and found it had already produced a flower of its own!

I’m not sure whether it’s going to survive, but I am certainly getting my money’s worth out of the original!
